The Path of Duty.
“And, behold, it is your duty to unite with the true church, and give your language to exhortation continually, that you may receive the reward of the laborer. Amen.”

When it comes to our duty, nothing is more important than our duty to God. It comes above duty to nation or duty to any organization. Our approach to our duty to God defines our discipleship, but do we treat it that way? Do we define ourselves by how we fulfill our duty?

Enduring well.
“Be patient in afflictions, for thou shalt have many; but endure them, for, lo, I am with thee, even unto the end of thy days.”
Doctrine and Covenants 24:8
Patience is one of the most elusive of the Christ-like attributes and like many other attributes, the true meaning has been lost to culture. If someone says “Just be patience” we think they are telling us to just wait. This is NOT patience as the Gospel teaches. Patience is actively trusting the Lord’s timetables, it is understanding that sometimes GOOD things are denied temporarily to teach us other essential gospel principles.
It is vital to understand patience correctly, President Uchtdorf has taught many sermons on what patience is, and how to develop it. “Patience is not passive resignation, nor is it failing to act because of our fears. Patience means active waiting and enduring. It means staying with something and doing all that we can—working, hoping, and exercising faith; bearing hardship with fortitude, even when the desires of our hearts are delayed. Patience is not simply enduring; it is enduring well!”

The Power Of Music
“For my soul delighteth in the song of the heart; yea, the song of the righteous is a prayer unto me, and it shall be answered with a blessing upon their heads.”
Doctrine and Covenants 25:12
Music is one of the most amazing aspects of the Gospel, when I was a missionary I realized almost every missionary had gained their testimonies from a spiritual experience related to music. But we did not use it in teaching, so we started to use music in our teaching and our success skyrocketed.
We realized that if we used music in the lessons it ALWAYS brought the Spirit, truly music is the secret weapon in our war against Satan. But we must be careful with our music, just as good music brings us to Christ, bad music draws us away from Christ and to Satan. Let us use music to come unto Christ and to bring others with us!

Why Faith?
“And all things shall be done by common consent in the church, by much prayer and faith, for all things you shall receive by faith. Amen.”
Doctrine and Covenants 26:2
Faith is the basic building block of our discipleship, this verse teaches us that we must “all things you shall receive by faith” When something is received by faith we will be able to gain a personal testimony of the truth of the Gospel subject. Because faith empowers us to receive this testimony Satan is relentless in attacking our faith. President Russell M. Nelson taught the following about the need for resilient faith: Why do we need such resilient faith? Because difficult days are ahead. Rarely in the future will it be easy or popular to be a faithful Latter-day Saint. Each of us will be tested.
