My Review Of Saturday’s Warrior, Why You Should See It!

So I was invited to the Wednesday Night Premiere of Saturday’s Warrior. I had never seen (or can’t remember) watching the original, it came out before I was even born. So I went into this not sure what I should expect, most everyone else in the room were “fans of the original” and had “grown up dancing to the music” as some of them put it.

It was pretty awesome rubbing shoulders and talking with the actors, and director, and writer of Saturday’s Warrior, but I knew they were expecting me to write a review of the movie, so I was hopeful that it would be good. One thing stood out to me, that is what the Director said his intended goal was to have people learn “look again, there may be more to life that what you see.”

To be honest, the first few minutes of the film I assume were nostalgic for fans of the old film as everyone was clapping, but honestly, I was starting to get nervous. How was thinking to myself, how am I going to write an honest review of this movie?…

But then the film caught me when the film starts you are the “pre-earth life” but then you are taken to earth and instantly taken back to the ’70s, and you join the Flinders family. I won’t spoil the details, but it includes some amazing and powerful songs, the Piano guys are even in it! The song “More” is just so powerful!

By the end of the movie the theme of Family, and Redemption was so powerful I found myself crying. And as a 24-year-old guy, I don’t like to admit that. Luckily I had allergies so when I blew my nose I was able to also nonchalantly wipe my eyes. I loved the line “Freedom is knowing who you are” I really believe that is true, if we understood who we are, and who others are it would change the world.

I was in a rare situation after the movie I rushed over to another theater because I had been invited to watch the prescreening of God’s Not Dead 2.

Thursday when I was at Insitute I started talking about how I watched two movies the night before, then I was asked the question which one was better…
It was awful, I had to choose between the two films. I simply said. “I loved God’s not dead 2 because of how important the topic of religious freedom is, but I liked Saturday’s Warrior better because I felt the Spirit, and the message was about family”

My friend looked at me and asked, so I should see Saturdays Warrior? I replied “I was offered free tickets to Saturday’s Warrior, I would pay to watch it again. Yes, if you had to choose one, see Saturdays Warrior.”

So go see Saturday’s Warrior, and feel the powerful message about Family, Redemption and Love.
