Ponderize Preach My Gospel

Why should I ponderize Preach My Gospel? Simple! By ponderizing the verses in Chapter 3 of Preach My Gospel everyone can gain a deeper understanding, and eventually a mastery of the Gospel. This is a series to help everyone master the Gospel so they can live it and share it. This is a great missionary prep tool!

This week the verses to ponderize comes from the first lesson in chapter three, the Message of the Restoration, this time we are on the principle “The Great Apostasy”  Here is an excerpt from that principle to help set the tone.

“After the death of Jesus Christ, wicked people persecuted the Apostles and Church members and killed many of them. With the death of the Apostles, priesthood keys and the presiding priesthood authority were taken from the earth. The Apostles had kept the doctrines of the gospel pure and maintained the order and standard of worthiness for Church members. Without the Apostles, over time the doctrines were corrupted, and unauthorized changes were made in Church organization and priesthood ordinances, such as baptism and conferring the gift of the Holy Ghost…

…The Savior’s Apostles foretold this universal apostasy. They also foretold that the gospel of Jesus Christ and His Church would be restored once more upon the earth.”

The verses to ponderize is 2 Timothy 4:3–4, one of Paul’s prophecies of the coming apostasy.

 “For the time will come when they will not endure sounddoctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.”

-2 Timothy 4:3–4
