Are you looking for a fun Mickey Mouse themed treat that your whole family will LOVE?

Hey everyone, this is Julia, Jeremy’s sister. I am guest posting today to share with you a favorite family treats with a fun Disney Twist as well as an exciting giveaway.
Let’s start with the treat. Growing up Jeremy can attest that we LOVE baking cookies. Our family has made it a quest to find, and perfect cookie recipes. Today I want to share one of my kid’s favorite cookie recipes.

Growing up if you asked for a sugar cookie in our home you would be given one of my great grandmother’s famous Sour Cream Sugar Cookies (get the recipe here) These light fluffy cookies are delicious and addicting.
However, when I got married my husband asked if I could make him rolled sugar cookies (the kind that you cut out with cookie cutters) I searched far and wide for the perfect rolled sugar cookie recipe and ended up tweaking it a bit till I was satisfied with the results.
You see I wanted the cookie to be firm so it would hold it’s shape when baked, but be soft (not crisp) when bitten into. Yes, this is possible with a Sugar cookie and the taste is fantastic.
Mickey Mouse Sugar Cookies
These are my kids favorite rolled sugar cookies. They are firm yet soft, They practically melt in your mouth yet still hold their cut shape perfectly. And their buttery flavor is great on their own or paired with sugar or buttercream frosting.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 Cups Softened Butter
- 2 Cups White Cane Sugar
- 4 Eggs
- 1 teaspoon Pure Vanilla Extract
- 2 teaspoons Baking Powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 5 cups all purpose Flower
Instructions
Beat in mixing bowl softened Butter until whipped.
Add in sugar and beat until fully mixed with Whipped Butter.
Add Eggs, Vanilla, Baking Powder, and Salt with the Sugar & Butter mixture. Beat until fully mixed together.
Slowly add flour until fully mixed in.
Divide into 3 sections and wrap in saran wrap then refrigerate for at least 1 hour (preferably overnight).
After Chilled roll out dough to 1/4 an inch and cut with Mickey Mouse cookie cutters.
Place 1 inch apart on parchment lined Cookie Sheet.
Sprinkle Red sugar sprinkles carefully over every Mickey Mouse cookie on the sheet
Bake in the oven at 400 for 6-7 minutes and then cool
Notes
By placing the Sugar sprinkles on the cookies before baking, It bakes the sprinkles into the cookies.

While these cookies are great frosted with buttercream frosting or with the currently popular flooded Royal Frosting, my favorite way to make them is with colored crystal sprinkles. Which is what I did with these Mickey Mouse Sugar Cookies.
