“The Book of Mormon truly is a treasured testament. There is no other book quite like it. Can you find any other book delivered by an angel? Can you think of any other book prepared for people to read centuries later? Its writers did not write it for readers of their day. No royalties accrued to its authors from sales to contemporary consumers. In fact, its authors paid dearly for their privilege of authorship, as did its translator.”
Russell M. Nelson (Ensign, July 1993)

“The Book of Mormon is a schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ.”
James E. Faust (First Presidency Message, Jan. 2004)

“The Book of Mormon is our handbook of instructions as we travel the pathway from bad to good to better and strive to have our hearts changed.”
David A. Bednar (GC: Apr. 2012)

“The Book of Mormon is our latter-day survival guide.”
Russell M. Nelson (GC: Oct. 2020)

“Every Latter-day Saint should make the study of this book a lifetime pursuit. Otherwise he is placing his soul in jeopardy and neglecting that which could give spiritual and intellectual unity to his whole life. There is a difference between a convert who is built on the rock of Christ through the Book of Mormon and stays hold of that iron rod, and one who is not”
Ezra Taft Benson (GC: Oct. 1986)

“What we do know about the actual coming forth of the Book of Mormon is adequate, but it is not comprehensive. Our primary focus in studying the Book of Mormon should be on the principles of the gospel anyway, not on the process by which the book came forth.”
Neal A. Maxwell (Ensign, Jan. 1997)

“Further, few things build faith more than does regular immersion in the Book of Mormon.”
Russell M. Nelson (GC: Oct. 2020)

“I promise that as you prayerfully study the Book of Mormon every day, you will make better decisions—every day”
Russell M. Nelson (GC: Oct. 2017)

“The Book of Mormon is a keystone because it establishes and ties together eternal principles and precepts, rounding out basic doctrines of salvation. It is the crowning gem in the diadem of our holy scriptures”
James E. Faust (First Presidency Message, Jan. 2004)

“The only problem the objector has to resolve for himself is whether the Book of Mormon is true. For if the Book of Mormon is true, then Jesus is the Christ, Joseph Smith was his prophet, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true, and it is being led today by a prophet receiving revelation.”
Ezra Taft Benson (GC: Apr. 1975)

“While doubts about Jesus exist among today’s ministers and scholars, the Book of Mormon stands as an international beacon of divine truth.”
Russell M. Nelson (Ensign, July 1993)

“What, then, is the Book of Mormon? It is confirming evidence of the birth, life, and crucifixion of Jesus and of his work as the Messiah and the Redeemer.”
James E. Faust (First Presidency Message, Jan. 2004)

“We testify that when used together, the Bible and the Book of Mormon confound false doctrines, lay down contentions, and establish peace.”
Ezra Taft Benson (GC: Oct. 1984)

“No other book testifies of Jesus Christ with such power and clarity. [Book of Mormon] prophets, as inspired by the Lord, saw our day and selected the doctrine and truths that would help us most.”
Russell M. Nelson (GC: Oct. 2020)

“The importance of having a firm and sure testimony of the Book of Mormon cannot be overstated… If you are not reading the Book of Mormon each day, please do so.”
Thomas S. Monson (GC: Apr. 2017)

“The early Saints were rebuked for treating the Book of Mormon lightly, are we under any less condemnation if we do the same?”
Ezra Taft Benson (GC: Oct. 1986)

“How precious is the Book of Mormon to you? If you were offered diamonds or rubies or the Book of Mormon, which would you choose? Honestly, which is of greater worth to you?”
Russell M. Nelson (GC: Oct. 2017)

“The Book of Mormon is the instrument that God designed to “sweep the earth as with a flood, to gather out [His] elect.” (Moses 7:62.) This sacred volume of scripture needs to become more central in our preaching, our teaching, and our missionary work.”
Ezra Taft Benson (GC: Oct. 1988)

“The Book of Mormon refutes the doctrine of predestination. It refutes the ex nihilo (“out of nothing”) idea of creation. It refutes the false but pervasive notion of original sin. It refutes the fable of faith without works. It refutes the adequacy of goodness alone without exalting ordinances. It refutes the practice of infant baptism. It refutes methods of baptism other than that of immersion by one bearing proper authority. It refutes the arbitrary restriction that revelation from God ended with the Bible.”
Russell M. Nelson (Ensign, July 1993)

“I have a vision of the whole Church getting nearer to God by abiding by the precepts of the Book of Mormon. Indeed, I have a vision of flooding the earth with the Book of Mormon.”
Ezra Taft Benson (GC: Oct. 1988)

“The importance of having a firm and sure testimony of the Book of Mormon cannot be overstated.”
Thomas S. Monson (GC: Apr. 2017)

“The Book of Mormon was written for us today. God is the author of the book. It is a record of a fallen people, compiled by inspired men for our blessing today. Those people never had the book—it was meant for us.”
Ezra Taft Benson (GC: Apr. 1975)

“There are some things that the Book of Mormon is not. It is not a text of history, although some history is found within its pages. It is not a definitive work on ancient American agriculture or politics. It is not a record of all former inhabitants of the Western Hemisphere, but only of particular groups of people.” (Italics in original)
Russell M. Nelson (Ensign, July 1993)

“The time is long overdue for a massive flooding of the earth with the Book of Mormon for the many reasons which the Lord has given. In this age of the electronic media and the mass distribution of the printed word, God will hold us accountable if we do not now move the Book of Mormon in a monumental way.”
Ezra Taft Benson (GC: Oct. 1988)

“Social, ethical, cultural, or educational converts will not survive under the heat of the day unless their taproots go down to the fulness of the gospel which the Book of Mormon contains.”
Ezra Taft Benson (GC: Apr. 1975)

“I promise that as you daily immerse yourself in the Book of Mormon, you can be immunized against the evils of the day, even the gripping plague of pornography and other mind-numbing addictions.”
Russell M. Nelson (GC: Oct. 2017)

“Life moves all too fast. When you feel weak, discouraged, depressed, or afraid, open the Book of Mormon and read. Do not let too much time pass before reading a verse, a thought, or a chapter.”
Boyd K. Packer (GC: Apr. 2005)

“And so, I counsel you, my beloved brothers and sisters and friends everywhere, to make reading the Book of Mormon a few minutes each day a lifelong practice.”
Marion G. Romney (GC: Apr. 1980)

“Do you want to get rid of a bad habit? Do you want to improve relationships in your family? Do you want to increase your spiritual capacity? Read the Book of Mormon! It will bring you closer to the Lord and His loving power.”
Russell M. Nelson (GC: Oct. 1999)

“The Book of Mormon is the keystone of testimony. Just as the arch crumbles if the keystone is removed, so does all the Church stand or fall with the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon”
Ezra Taft Benson (GC: Oct. 1986)

“I feel certain that if, in our homes, parents will read from the Book of Mormon prayerfully and regularly, both by themselves and with their children, the spirit of that great book will come to permeate our homes and all who dwell therein. The spirit of reverence will increase; mutual respect and consideration for each other will grow. The spirit of contention will depart. Parents will counsel their children in greater love and wisdom. Children will be more responsive and submissive to the counsel of their parents. Righteousness will increase. Faith, hope, and charity—the pure love of Christ—will abound in our homes and lives, bringing in their wake peace, joy, and happiness”
Marion G. Romney (GC: Apr. 1980)

“The Book of Mormon is the keystone of our religion—the keystone of our testimony, the keystone of our doctrine, and the keystone in the witness of our Lord and Savior.”
Ezra Taft Benson (GC: Oct. 1986)

“You could easily find time for daily study of the Book of Mormon even if for only 10 minutes a day. And you can study in a way that allows you to enjoy it and understand it—either on your device or in book form.”
Gary E. Stevenson (GC: Oct. 2016)

“There is a power in the book which will begin to flow into your lives the moment you begin a serious study of the book. You will find greater power to resist temptation. You will find the power to avoid deception. You will find the power to stay on the strait and narrow path.”
Ezra Taft Benson (GC: Oct. 1986)

“I testify of the power in the Book of Mormon. Whether reading it in English, Italian, or French, in print or on an electronic device, I have found the same wonderful spirit flowing from its chapters and verses into my life. I testify of its ability to draw us closer to Christ. I pray that each of us will take full advantage of the power that is in this wonderful book of scripture.”
LeGrand R. Curtis Jr. (GC: Oct. 2016)

“The Book of Mormon is the “keystone” of our religion, and the Doctrine and Covenants is the capstone, with continuing latter-day revelation. The Lord has placed His stamp of approval on both the keystone and the capstone.”
Ezra Taft Benson (GC: Apr. 1987)

“Do not be disappointed if you have read and reread and yet have not received a powerful witness. You may be somewhat like the disciples spoken of in the Book of Mormon who were filled with the power of God in great glory “and they knew it not” (3 Ne. 9:20).”
Boyd K. Packer (GC: Apr. 2005)

“The Book of Mormon is an endless treasure of wisdom and inspiration, of counsel and correction, ‘adapted to the capacity of the weak and the weakest [among us]’ (D&C 89:3). At once, it is rich in nourishment for the most learned, if they will humble themselves (see 2 Ne. 9:28–29).”
Boyd K. Packer (GC: Apr. 2005)

“We do not have to defend the Prophet Joseph Smith. The Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ will defend him for us. Those who reject Joseph Smith as a prophet and revelator are left to find some other explanation for the Book of Mormon.”
Boyd K. Packer (GC: Apr. 2005)

“Lift up your voices and testify to the true nature of the Godhead. Declare your witness concerning the Book of Mormon. Convey the glorious and beautiful truths contained in the plan of salvation. Regarding your testimony, remember, that which you willingly share you keep, while that which you selfishly keep you lose.”
Thomas S. Monson (CR, Oct. 1969, Page 95)

“Salvation is not found in a book, any book, neither the Book of Mormon nor the Bible. Salvation is in Christ; it comes because of his atoning sacrifice; his is the only name given under heaven whereby man can be saved. Salvation comes by the grace of God, through the shedding of the blood of his Son.”
Bruce R. McConkie (CR, Apr. 1968, Page 19)

“Students, pray for inspiration and knowledge. Counsel with your parents. Let Sunday be the day to fill up your spiritual batteries for the week by reading good church books, particularly the Book of Mormon. Take time to meditate. Don’t let the philosophies and falsehoods of men throw you. Hold on to the iron rod. Learn to sift. Learn to discern error through the promptings of the Spirit and your study of the truth.”
Ezra Taft Benson (CR, Oct. 1964, Page 58)

“To every young man and woman within the sound of my voice I should like to say, take upon yourself the name of the Lord and then with faith go forth to teach with relevance that which will affect the lives of men and bring peace and joy to the world. The need of the world is a generation of men of learning and influence who can and will stand up and in sincerity and without equivocation declare that God lives and that Jesus is the Christ.”
Gordon B. Hinckley (CR, Oct. 1964, Pages 118-119)

“In that sacred volume of scripture, the Book of Mormon, we note the great and prolonged struggle for liberty. We also note the complacency of the people and their frequent willingness to give up their liberty for the promises of a would-be provider.”
Ezra Taft Benson (CR, Oct. 1962 Page 14)

“How did this situation come about? There are, of course, many reasons. Our apathy — our complacent indifference is a major cause. We have permitted ourselves to be pacified and lulled away into carnal security as Book of Mormon prophets predicted. (See 2 Nephi 28:21.)”
Ezra Taft Benson (CR, Oct. 1962 Page 15)

“How I wish every American and every living soul would read the Book of Mormon. I testify to you that it is true. It tells about the prophetic history and mission of America. It gives the comforting assurance that God has kept this great nation, as it were, in the hollow of his hand in preparation for its great mission.”
Ezra Taft Benson (CR, Apr. 1962 Page 103)

“No member of this Church can stand approved in the presence of God who has not seriously and carefully read the Book of Mormon.”
Joseph Fielding Smith (CR, Oct. 1961 Page 18)

“As one voice among thousands of others, I certify that I know by the promptings of the Spirit that the Book of Mormon is true. As a consequence I have in addition a personal knowledge, also born of the Spirit, of the divinity of Christ, of the divine mission of the Prophet Joseph Smith, and of all things incident to this great latter-day work which are essential for the salvation and exaltation of men.”
Bruce R. McConkie (CR, Apr. 1961 Page 40)

“The Book of Mormon is the most effective piece of missionary literature we have.”
Marion G. Romney (CR, Apr. 1960 Page 110)

“Brothers and sisters, without reservation I promise you that if you will prayerfully read the Book of Mormon, regardless of how many times you previously have read it, there will come into your hearts an added measure of the Spirit of the Lord. There will come a strengthened resolution to walk in obedience to his commandments, and there will come a stronger testimony of the living reality of the Son of God.”
Gordon B. Hinckley (First Presidency Message, June 1988)

“When we are fortified with such knowledge from our reading and studying the Book of Mormon, we can better prepare to live in our day.”
N. Eldon Tanner (First Presidency Message, Sept. 1977)

“In this day when the Bible is being downgraded by many who have mingled philosophies of the world with Bible scriptures to nullify their true meaning, how fortunate that our eternal Heavenly Father, who is always concerned about the spiritual well-being of His children, has given to us a companion book of scriptures, known as the Book of Mormon, as a defense for the truths of the Bible that were written and spoken by the prophets as the Lord directed.”
Harold B. Lee (Ensign, Dec. 1983)
