A Cell Phone Vs The Book Of Mormon
While I was in Seattle this past weekend, I attended a fireside where Alex Boye shared the concept of comparing how we treat a cell phone vs how we treat the Book of Mormon. I LOVED the concept. So, here are some of his and some new ones of my own! Enjoy!
What would happen if we… Treated the Book of Mormon like we treat our cell phone?
What if we carried it around in our purses or pockets?
What if we showed friends our favorite part?
What if it was the first thing we looked at when we got up?
What if we flipped through it several times a day?
What if we used it when we got lost?
What if we turned back to go get it if we forgot it?
What if we used it to receive messages from the text?
What if we treated it like we couldn’t live without it?
What if we gave it to kids and friends as gifts?
What if we used it to find answers to life’s questions?
What if we used it when we were lonely?
What if we used it when we traveled?
What if we used it in the case of an emergency?
What if we spent even 1/10th the amount of time using it?
What if we used it to check the time? (signs of the times)
What if we turned to it to find out self-worth?
What if we used it to communicate with our Father?
What if we used it when we needed directions?

And unlike our cell phones… One plan fits all. Unlimited usage. No roaming charges. You always have reception. You never need to recharge it. No weak signals. We don’t have to worry about our Book of Mormon being disconnected because our Savior already paid the bill!
Think about it! Do you have a physical copy of the Book of Mormon? When was the last time you read it? Shared it with a friend? Or turned to it in a time of need? What about in a time of rejoicing, do you turn to it then? Consider the words of a Prophet.

“Every Latter-day Saint should make the study of this book a lifetime pursuit. Otherwise he is placing his soul in jeopardy and neglecting that which could give spiritual and intellectual unity to his whole life. There is a difference between a convert who is built on the rock of Christ through the Book of Mormon and stays hold of that iron rod, and one who is not”
~Ezra Taft Benson

Did you know the founder of the Baptist church in America left it? He was looking for a restoration. Just like other famous men. They knew there was a need for a restoration.

There's a problem with this one, too, in the version at the top of the page: "What if we turned used it to find out self-worth?" Feel free to delete this comment; just wanted to let you fix that if you want to.

Love your visual, but it has a typo. It says "Teated the Book of Mormon..." Wish you would correct it and put out an updated version.
