Today is President Russell M. Nelson’s 101st birthday. I love the fact that when he became the prophet, the news agencies told us not to expect him to change much, but the Lord had different plans. As so much has changed, from dozens of new temples to the two-hour block and Come, Follow Me.

To celebrate our beloved prophet’s 101st birthday, I want to share with you 10 pictures and 11 quotes that highlight his life, ministry, and personality. First, the photos.

I love this photo as it shows the need to find joy in the little things of life.

I was actually in Baton Rouge when President Nelson visited, I was in another fast and testimony meeting just like the one pictured above (Elder Richard J. Maynes presided at ours). The Spirit was palpable as thousands gathered in Baton Rouge to serve our fellow brothers and sisters, most of whom were non-members.
